SOLD OUT - Fly Rod, 4 Piece, Graphite, 6 Weight, With Case
I made this rod is made on a Proof graphite blank. It is a 6 weight, 4 piece with uplocking seat and Fenwick-style handle. Proof says it has a “clean crisp fast action with a semi-gloss clear coat. Designed to throw streamers, drys in the wind and poppers.” I agree! Its got some backbone and casts beautifully. Look close at the wraps, I love the way the white/black stripes came out against the charcoal-colored blank.
I love to fish smallmouth (although I don’t do it enough). I “themed” it with a smallmouth burn on the case and handle. Perfect for hunting smallmouth, but like many 6 weights it is versatile and can be used for trout and largemouth.
I added a magnet in the butt section (see photos) to hold your fly when making a change.
The case is made of cherry, walnut, and a little pine with a cork inside. I like how the case handle turned out, leather – and the latches are solid. See photos for the case size. This style of case is a first for me and I am happy with how the it turned out. Rod is snug with no movement when closed.
