Unique, 9', 4 Piece, 5 Weight, Graphite Fly Rod with Handmade Wood Case and Hand Turned Cherry Wood Handle
This is a UNIQUE, handcrafted, graphite, 9’, 5 weight, 4 piece fly rod with a hand built case and hand turned wood handle. See photos for details on the lengths and weights of the rod and case. The 9’, 5 weight is the most versatile of fly rods. Great for casting small flies to trout and bluegill but can also be used to cast larger flies for smallmouth or even largemouth bass.
The rod - This one is BLACK with copper/gold wraps! I love these colored blanks. I won’t spend time describing it, just look at the pictures (pay close attention to the wrap colors!) It will be unlike any fly rod you see on the river. This is from the rod bank seller’s website:
“The Color Series Fly Blanks are perfect for fishing a variety of small and large gamefish and boosting performance, style, and fun. These classic 9-foot models bring smooth casts upstream, easy mending, and the ideal moderate-fast actions to keep feisty fish on tiny flies and light leaders. For exciting color options and confidence in performance, look no further than CRB's Color Series.

Perfect for Beginners and Experienced Fly Anglers”
The real seat hardware is made of aluminum and has a nice-looking wood insert (the type of wood will vary depending on what rod you are viewing). I include a hook keeper on all my rods and the guides are standard two-feet guides.
The handle – I turned the reversed half-wells shaped handle out of cherry wood. I love the look of cherry. I REALLY like the look of cherry as it ages. As you use the rod and it ages, the handle will turn a beautiful darker color. I put multiple coats of spar varnish on the handle, so it is well protected; however, it is simple to put another coat of varnish on if needed later. The wood handle adds very little weight to the rod (see photos). Removable RUBBER REEL SEAT BUTT cover included.
The case – The primary reason I believe this is a great priced rod is because I obtained the white oak case wood for free. It can cost me $50 - $125 solely for the case wood (depending on the type of wood). I am not charging anything for the case wood as I usually would. The case is hex shaped and is covered in spar varnish. Depending on what case you are viewing I sometimes stain the wood and sometimes do not; and sometimes I will also burn fly fishing related items on the case. I CNC’d the rod identification on the case and used faux leather for the handle and lid. The cap is oftentimes made from a different wood that the case, sometimes walnut or maple (you should be able to tell in the photos).
