Cigar Holder and Humidifier - Hand Turned - CHECKERED MAHOGANY AND MAPLE
I do love a good cigar, sometimes on the river while fishing. I made one of these holder/humidifiers for myself. THIS IS FOR ONE OF THE CHECKERED MAHOGANY AND MAPLE HOLDERS. Shove it in your vest, and it stays ready when you are. This checkered pattern takes a lot more work, thus I charge a little more.
You unscrew the bottom hydration disk, fill it with your choice of solution or distilled water and it keeps the cigar moist. The readable hygrometer seems pretty accurate. I am really impressed with the humidity. Mine keeps it for days. I have put a dried cigar in mine and brought it back to life. It really works well, better that I expected.
It fits a good-sized cigar, larger than the typical turned cigar holder. It holds up to a 7” Churchill with a 47 ring. Maximum cigar diameter is 19.8mm or 25/32”. That is a nice sized cigar. Many great cigars meet this size. (One of my favorite, reasonably priced cigars – if you can find it - is the Punch Rare Corojo 45 - and it fits).
I turned this out of cherry and will turn a beautiful dark tone over time (see mine in the photos). I also did the pyrography.
Thanks for looking. Tim
